Geek night

So tonight was another big geek night. Updated some stuff here on the site that was left out of the update last night. Got the RSS feed up and running again. If you didn’t see the feed, I forgot to code the RSS class…oops. But it’s all good now.

I also wired up a Radio Shack IR detector to a break out board so I can hook it up to an o-scope tomorrow and get some waveforms. If you didn’t see the hookbot post take a look here. I plan on coding some IR parsing routines into a pic and running the bot around the apartment via a small remote I have. Unfortunately I don’t have an o-scope so I have to sneak some time on one tomorrow to get the timing.

This weekend I’m going to be writing up a review of Embedded Linux Primer from Prentice Hall. I’ve been reading the book off and on for a while amidst the craziness of the last month. It’s a really good book and anyone who wants to know not only embedded Linux, but embedded programming and development should take a look. I could go on but that’s what the review is for.

For your viewing pleasure I snapped a pic of my workspace here, figured I would post it. :-P
